Happy St Piran’s Day 💛
We don’t say it lightly, but running a business in Cornwall really is the best.
We've lost count of the number of times we've got stuck on something, or needed a second opinion, or were figuring something out for the first time… and there was always someone down here willing to help, share, or point us in the right direction.
Which is why spending St Piran’s Day in Westminster, surrounded by other Cornish food and drink producers, felt both slightly surreal and entirely fitting at the same time.
We were there with the brilliant team at Great Cornish Food, alongside Josh's Chocolate, Tregothnan Tea, Roddas, St. Austel Brewery, and more, pouring drinks and sharing what we do with press, curious passersby, MPs and even a Baroness.
Falmouth Dry and Golden Hour made the trip up with us. Two of our forever crowd favourites, and a pretty good way of introducing people to what we’re about. We're always surprised and also not that surprised at the appreciation that Cornish food and drink gets outside of Cornwall.
After the tasting, we headed up to the public gallery and sat in on a backbench debate in the House of Commons, because when in Rome.
A big thank you to the Great Cornish Food team for bringing it all together and inviting us to be part of it.
Days like this don’t happen without a lot of work behind the scenes, and it showed!
We came home feeling proud, a little bit tired, and very aware (again) of how lucky we are to build something from Cornwall, with the kind of community that exists here.
And yes, of course there’s a selfie in front of Big Ben.
You didn’t think we’d miss that, did you.
