When we first moved into our new distillery space a year ago, it was cavernous. A huge, empty, echoey industrial unit with concrete floors and white walls that swallowed every sound. It was daunting and exciting all at once.
A big reason for taking it on, aside from needing room to grow, was so that we could finally open our doors more often. We wanted somewhere for our community to come together: to drink, to eat, to learn, and to see what goes on behind the stills.
Fast forward to this summer, and it feels like the space has finally found its soul. Filling it with you lot has been our very favourite thing- and now, looking back, all those late nights sanding, painting, and hauling boxes in the rain were worth it.
We’ve hosted:
-
Open houses - where we pour you a drink, show you Mabel (our still), and share what we’re working on.
-
Supper clubs - big long tables, the distillery dressed to the nines, darn good food, chatter, and Loveday drinks from the source.
-
Tour & tastings - intimate sessions exploring our gins and rums, hosted by one of us founders. A peek behind the scenes, accompanied with a full tasting flight and every Loveday story under then sun
-
Workshops - from drawing classes to hands-on sessions that bring together creativity and craft.
-
Private Parties - celebrations, birthdays and even silent discos 🪩
It’s been a whirlwind, and exactly what we’d always hoped this place would be!
And the best bit? We’re only just getting started.
There are plenty more events, tastings, and gatherings planned for the months ahead - and we’d love you to be part of them. Keep an eye on our Instagram and our newsletter for announcements, and if you’ve never stepped foot in the distillery before, this is your nudge to come along.
Below is a peek inside the distillery at some of our favourite events from this year.
