We are Loveday

A sunny Sunday feels like quite a good day to put in motion something we’ve been mulling over, and to-ing and fro-ing about for a long time- So, here goes- We are Loveday!

From the start this name has felt magnetic to us. It’s a centuries-old Cornish first name, with roots in much-celebrated days of settling disputes and restoring peace. It has a quiet strength and anchors us to this brilliant place we call home. To us, it also brings glorious big skies and get-togethers with favorite people to mind, which is surely what a darn good drink should be about.

We’ve had a feeling for a while now that these same notions will be present not only in our gins, but in anything and everything we create in the future, so for that reason Loveday just feels…right. The beginning of summer, with a busy season ahead of making, markets, events and collaborations, seems like a very good moment to embrace this identity that has been growing, evolving and feeling more and more like home since we started.

Our bottles are getting into more hands that we allowed ourselves to hope for a year into trading, and what we’ve always considered to be our ‘one of these days’ plans suddenly seems just round the corner and It’s bloody exciting! Becoming Loveday now, feels like a brilliant touchstone in all this.

So that explains the change of name here, and on our social media pages. Ditto email addresses, but you’ll still reach us with our previous ones. Thank you as always for the support you lovely bunch. Here’s to what’s to come!
